Owww My Foot And Other Cofessions

Woke up yesterday morning to an unpleasant surprise – the top of my right foot swollen. #NotFun #NotPretty

Even worse? When I put pressure on that foot (That would be any time I try to walk.) it hurts like h*ll.

As I’ve said before, while I do have health insurance, I love being my own DR, so I’ve resorted to elevating it, ice packs, Arnica (pills and gel) and Advil. A little bird also told last night me to a avoid taking Advil on an empty stomach, so when I took some this morning, it was with my Stoneyfield YoBaby Yogurt.

Did I mention that this could not have happened at a worse time because I’ll be in NYC for a day and a half and I was looking forward to doing a lot of walking. Seriously. Also looking forward to wearing my new booties from Stuart Weitzman and Rag&Bone. (I’m not afraid to admit I first ‘discovered’ RB booties after seeing them in a Kiera Knightly editorial in InStyle. Whatever.)

So…No walking and no booties. Super.

With all of that on my mind, I limped over to Anthropologie and J.Crew last night to buy myself a few new things that I could wear with a swollen foot, including:

The perfect pant to wear with high boots.

• Pilcro Leggings, $98

As Talya, my fav sales person @ Anthro , told me, these are made of good fabric – a little thicker for fall, winter and not at all skimpy. (Nobody likes a skimpy legging: They're not flattering.) #IAmGoingToLiveInThese

The safest way to wear fringe is on a handbag.

• Fringe Tote, $98
I’m a little bored with all my leather bags and need a tote for my trip anyway. This one caught my eye because it’s large enough to hold everything without seeming like a piece of luggage. It also combines fringe, tweed and leather, which makes it eclectic and boho but not in an outdated Woodstock-y kind of way.

Blazer-palooza

• Grey Blazer, $198.
This one is more fitted than what I used to buy, but that’s because I finally realized that the Olsen twins are the only ones who can get away with an oversized silhouette without looking schlumpy. On the rest of us, a too big blazer just looks sloppy. (FYI: Maybe it was b/c it was chilly, but these standup collar style blazers were selling like cray crazy last night @ the J.Crew in GC.)

Yes, I’ll be limping around NYC tomorrow, but at least (hopefully), I’ll look cute.

Stay tuned.
