My RI Life: Jonathan Williams of WIL.O Hair Design

My name is Jonathan. I am a Hairstylist, Educator, and Business Owner (Co-Owner of WIL.O HAIR DESIGN on Broad Street in Historic Pawtuxet Village in Cranston). I am originally from New Jersey and I've lived in a few states. Rhode Island has been my home since 2003 and I love what this little state has to offer. There are so many cute towns and villages that have so many hidden gems.

My first passion is Cutting Hair! I have traveled throughout the US, doing shows and teaching hairstylists from all over the country. There is nothing better than teaching stylists new techniques and watching clients leave the salon with smiles on their faces. I truly believe that a great cut and color can change your life. Feeling confident about the way you look is priceless. “If you don’t look good, you don’t feel good”.

At WIL.O HAIR DESIGN, we explain to our clients that keeping their hair trimmed regularly is very important to maintaining that healthy look and GLOW, along with regular conditioning treatments. We offer deep conditioning treatments, with our EVO Product Linethat hydrate, restore, and protect your hair from mechanical as well as chemical damage. Also, our color line Calura is ammonia free and made with lots of organic ingredients.

My second passion is Food, I Love Food! Rhode Island is a great place for foodies like me. With a culinary school like Johnson & Wales in this small state and an abundance of places to EAT, how can you not love it? My go-to for Italian is Basta on Broad St. The food is great and the atmosphere is really fun and relaxing, especially the enclosed patio with the fireplace. For my Asian food fix, I hit up Lemongrass on Post Rd. They have the best crispy wings ever. My brunch spot is Nick’s on Broadway. Chef Derek (Wagner) and his staff are brilliant and the wait is so worth it. Down the street, The Grange is great, even if you’re not a vegetarian. (I am not, but after eating there, I’ve thought about it.) For sushi, it has to be Haruki’s in Wayland Square
