Make Plans To Meet Your Crew For Coffee & Pastries At This New-ish Cafe In Pawtuxet Village

See this content in the original post

Coffee is served nearly everywhere in this state but a really memorable cup is far less ubiquitous. So, when I heard that long-time Pawtuxet Village favorite Little Falls Bakery was under new ownership and being rebranded, I was wary. I often stopped at Little Falls for a morning coffee and to meet friends for lunch, it was a stand out option in area that offers a lot of great choices.

Beans and Buns opened in November 2019, and I recently had the opportunity to visit the updated cafe on a cold rainy February morning. The interior has changed dramatically, gone is the eclectic decor, replaced by bright and matching furnishings. While Little Falls was familiar and cozy, Beans and Buns is polished and inviting.

On one side, a display case was filled with muffins, scones, croissants and cinnamon buns as big as my head (I kid you not!) While the case on the other side featured quiches. I thought about getting an egg sandwich or avocado toast but that was before I knew about the spinach and feta croissant. This is a buttery, flaky, rich and savory bit of perfection! I also ordered a latte and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed!

It is no small feat to take over a beloved establishment in a state when directions are given according to “where the Benny’s used to be.”  Rhode Islanders are staunch resistors to change.

I can’t wait to return to try out the selections on their lunch menu. (OK, my actual plan is to return with a partner to take on one of those cinnamon buns!) For more information on Beans and Buns, visit https://beansandbunsri.com/.
