Your cat or dog doesn’t care if you’ve jumped on the pajamas all day bandwagon, just as long as you don’t coup d’e their favorite spot on the couch.

They won’t judge if you’re spraying on the dry shampoo a little thick these days or if your hair’s up in a weird bun.

They’re also happy to see you — even if you didn’t put on any tinted moisturizer or lip gloss this morning. (I say this because I’ve been watching all the Insta and YouTube tutorials on how to look your best on Facetime and Zoom calls.)

So, I’ve been seeing a bunch of cute photos online of people quarantining with their pets. And if we’ve being really honest with one another right now, our cats or dogs are pretty high up on all of our what’s-getting-us-thru-isolation lists.

quarantining with cats…

Now, when all of this started, my sister had a mini drama trying to locate a certain kind of Fancy Feast cat food that (we’ve realized) must be wildly popular in our area and frankly is the only food her cats will eat. (It’s Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers in Chicken btw, in case you were wondering.)

Thankfully we were able to find some online and have it shipped here.

But what about those who cannot afford to buy cat or dog food right now because they’re lost their jobs or their businesses are closed indefinitely? Our pets, after all, are part of our families, major players in our quarantine crews in fact.

Thank goodness, then, that the wonderful folks at Providence Animal Rescue League are putting together kits with cat or dog food, treats, and more for those in need, and they are available for curbside pick up outside their doors.

If you’re don’t need a kit, but want to do something for those who are struggling during the pandemic, I highly encourage you to lend a hand by either buying some supplies from their Amazon Wish List or giving a few dollars (anything helps, even $1 or 2) via their FB Page fundraiser that’s happening now.

Check out their Facebook Page for more specifics.

Stay well,
