You Can Have A Virtual Beach Day With The Sea Salt Spray From This Local RI Maker
Looking ahead to the next few days and the forecast is, well, crummy.
More rain, clouds, and chill.
It’s certainly not beach weather, and with sand and surf days on pause for now anyway, thought I’d share something neat that I stumbled across online recently.
So, a good friend of mine who used to live in Rhode Island but relocated several years ago had messaged me about those Knock It Off tees — from Frog & Toad and Parch PVD — that pretty much everyone has been posting about on Facebook, Twitter, and Insta.
I decided to go over to the FT site and order one for her, figuring it would be a nice way to cheer her up, brighten her day, especially now with the stress of the quarantine and all weighing so heavily on all of us.
Once on their site, though, my curiosity was peaked by a tab entitled “Quarantine Essentials.” I mean, knowing their penchant for the cheeky and whimsical, I had to know exactly what they consider essential during this strange and troubling time in all of our lives when light and frothy distractions are most welcome.
That’s when I happened upon something called Sea Salt Home Spray (photo below), crafted right here in the Ocean State by Kala Style Soap.
It’s cruelty free, vegan and made with ingredients like organic witch hazel, essential oils and alcohol. (I’m officially obsesed now with the % of alcohol that products contain — with 68% or more being the magic number to squash the virus on surfaces — how ‘bout you?)
Why not send some to the beach lover in your life as a nice little pick me up while they’re isolating?
A sweet, and salty, way of saying, “I’m thinking of you.” It also might bring to mind memories of warmer and more carefree days, the taste of a cold Del’s, the coconut-y smell of suntan lotion, the scratchy feel of rough beach towels, and the crashing sounds of waves hitting the shoreline.
Or get some for yourself.
Or for your mom for the upcoming May 10th holiday.
For more info, go to the Kala Style Soap Instagram or KalaStyle.com.
That’s all for now.
Stay safe and stay well,
Patty J
