My name is Stephanie McGovern Additon. I am the founder of JAVA Skincare. I learned of the healing properties of coffee and applications for skincare in particular after founding my first company, a coffee roasting company and coffee shop that you can still visit today in Rhode Island.
I developed JAVA’s process for extracting the essential oils of raw coffee to create true all-natural skincare, testing out the products on the regulars at my coffee shop. Later we began selling at local farmers markets, then spas, and now at high-end retailers and boutiques across the country. When the pandemic happened, we pivoted to online — but that’s a story for another day.

JAVA Skin Care has won 5 Best of RI awards from the Rhode Island Monthly Magazine and I am a 2-time entrepreneur of the year, winning Woman Entrepreneur for RISBJ (Rhode Island Small Business Journal) in 2014, and Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in PBN (Providence Business News) in 2015. I am also honored to be on the Executive Committee of the Board of the North Kingstown Chamber for the last 2 years.
