Have Yourself A Warwick Weekend With These Amazing Outdoor Spots

Sure you can absolutely stay in the air conditioning and scroll the Kirby Jenner IG (it’s hil-a-rious, props to Stacey Doyle for calling it to my attention) or go on a Community or Handmaid’s Tale viewing spree, but even that gets boring after a while.

Instead of ac and tv, try reapplying the SPF (clean beauty, including suncreeen, is becoming more important by the minute), throwing on something cool (it’s much too hot for closed shoes, even if you hate how your toes look), and making a plan to hit these fun-tastic outdoor spots in the city of Warwick.

Rocky Point Amusement Park memories? Anyone born before 1975 or ‘80 is sure to regal you with them. The new pier (photo above) at the current version of that whole area (aka, Rocky Point State Park) that was unveiled last year is a must see for those folks, for everyone really. The park itself is a fab destination for strolling, dog walking, and family fun activities such as picnic-ing or tossing around a frisbee.

There’s also the Rocky Point Blueberry Farm, established in 1986. It just opened to the public a few weeks ago. One life hack I really appreciate about blueberry (or strawberry) farms is that you can just forgo the hard labor in the hot sun and buy a carton or three of already picked fresh berries to bring back home. After getting someone to snap a faux candid of you stylishly attired and exploring the premises of course.

Back in 2016, I stumbled across something online about hidden caves at RP State Park which I personally never found any evidence of, but has me wondering still: Do they truly exist or were they just another urban legend?

As far as restaurants and eats, there is Chelo's On The Water. Also, Iggy's. We also LIKE Tommy’s Clam Shack. And one of the regular contributors to this site is obsessed with the breakfast burrito on the wkend menu at The Shanty too.

The Tree House Tavern is a another fab spot for meeting your best pals for al fresco lunch or brunch (Sundays only) this month or next. Or Thursday nite drinks.

Absolutely perfect for those of us who are love the outdoors, on our own terms. In other words, we like to eat and drink outside during the nice weather in the Lil Rhody, but would never actually attempt anything resembling “roughing it” away from essentials like running (hot) water and wifi. If you're looking for a change of scenery from your usual haunts, with plenty of Insta Worthy character, snag some seats inside the rustic Woodshed or on their patio.

And if you want a cuppa coffee that will make your weekend, I highly encourage you to stop at the new Presto Strange O Coffee Shop in Warwick Neck. Their drinks are next level! (Check their IG & site for their current hours of operation.)

As always, if you visit any of these fine locations after reading this, do let them know you heard about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
