Brunch Is Better On The River

We were back at the Bridge Restaurant overlooking the Pawcatuck River in Westerly the other day — and the whole entire experience was first rate!

Their patio is a local hot spot during the warmer months. The fall and winter brunch, lunch or din din indoors, they are all just as marvelous.

Our room didn’t have a fireplace, but there are several throughout. We could see the gas one in the adjacent room and it looked pretty snug. The bar area in front is charming, too. We peeked in on our way out and it felt so homey. Sports on the televsion. A mellow vibe. (In addition I was intrigued by a considerably sized and colorful light fixture near the entrance that I bet has a greattt back story.)

Locals adore this casual eatery, open since 2010 and recently renovated, for beers and burgers (for the record they do have a vegetarian black bean that is quite good) or sandwiches, oysters, apps, date night, and (yea) brunch menu.

Their Sunday brunch menu is ginormous, and we were pleased with the many meat-free options. I opted for their 21st century twist on Eggs Benedict with spinach and a side of potatoes. Also an order of their amazing baked-on-the-premises biscuits.

The food was thoughtfully presented and (you can ALWAYS tell) incredibly fresh.

Our server was on point without hovering, a real win win.

And I LOVE that you can hop on Open Table and make a reservation which means no hour or more wait to be seated (ugh, one of my pet peeves for sure) and no disappointment because you drove all the way over for nothing.
