The New Restaurant In Providence Everyone's Going To Be Checking In From
Whether you’re looking for a day of tip for a memorable Valentine’s din din or somewhere exciting for brunch this coming Sunday (mark my words, everyone’s going to be checking in from here in the coming weeks), the new Aloft Providence on Dorrance Street just opened their rooftop restaurant Blu Violet and it’s pretty terrific!
I was there for a preview recently, along with a whole host of local editors and bloggers and such, and thought the views (of the skyline and the river), cocktails (tasty sips named for megahits from the 90’s) and bites (Chef Joël Eugène outdid himself, cooking up a delish feast including several brunch mains with intriguing Carribean or Haitian twists) were tippity top shelf, very big city and similar to a dining experience I might have had in Boston or NYC.
The decor is modern without being cold, the bar area is stunning, and you can also hop on Open Table and reserve a table. I mean, don’t know about you but I have absolutely no desire to stand on line for an hour or more waiting for seats anywhere these days.
