The Cookie Hub

If you asked me a year ago about cookies, I would have told you I liked to eat them, but that’s about all I knew. However, having kids can throw you into adventures you never expected!

When my daughter turned 5, she insisted on a Mermaid AND Skeleton themed birthday party (yes, it was a really weird request). Because of the super odd mix of themes, I knew getting Mermaid/Skeleton themed supplies would be a little more difficult than an Amazon order. Thankfully, I’ve always been a pretty crafty person, so armed with my Cricut, I was able to tackle the decorations easily.

As our guest list grew, so did the expenses. It became apparent, very early on, that custom ordered desserts weren’t going to fit into our budget this time. So, with a very excited 5 year old looking over my shoulder, I picked out some mermaid themed cookie cutters, some food coloring and the rest, as they say, was history.

Making cookies for my daughter ballooned into custom cookies for other kids’ birthdays, special vacations and holidays. My friends and family were impressed with the designs and would tell me that I should be selling them. I brushed it off until the end of 2022, when Rhode Island announced the passing of its very first cottage bakery law, allowing for home bakers to sell their goods. I decided to apply and dove head first into creating The Cookie Hub.

As the owner of a marketing business for the past 8 years, I thankfully knew how to navigate the small business world, and that knowledge has thankfully allowed me to reach and grow The Cookie Hub faster than I could have anticipated!

The first, and my personal favorite, arm of The Cookie Hub is Customsmall batch, highly customized cookie sets to match the themes of baby showers, birthdays, bridal showers and other special events. I love coming up with the designs and getting to spend the time creating that perfect finishing touch. Plus, I spent a lot of time coming up with the perfect, cakey, buttery recipe, that ensured they not only looked good, but were delicious as well.

New for Valentine’s Day, and sure to become a staple for upcoming events, are my holiday pre-orders. These cookies come in holiday designs that are available for order right on the website and for pickup before the holiday. The Gnomes are my personal favorite from the most recent collection.

And finally – I’m so excited to kick off our Cookie Decorating Classes! These beginner classes require no decorating background, and are a great time to get together with your friends and try something new! There are 2 super fun options for Valentine’s Day designs coming up on February 4th and February 9th with tickets available, as well as some fun spring ones already booked with details coming soon!
