We Had Lunch At This Cute Cafe In Narragansett, Rhode Island
Recently the hubs and I were on a mission to get some photos in Narragansett, but because I was verging on hangry, also lunch.
Now, whether it’s an unseasonably mild day in February or peak season in July, I feel like lunch options in the Gansett area can be — shall we say — somewhat limited.
We were also wanting to go somewhere a little different. (We tend to gravitate to the same 2 or 3 eateries whenever we’re in the area.)
Luckily, I remembered The Bike Stop Cafe.
It’s a funky little spot not far from The Towers and Narragansett Beach, on Boon Street. (If the weather had been warmer, maybe we would have walked.)
Both the interior and exterior are decked out with an assortment of bicycles up high and down on the ground (aka, the bike garden that you can’t help but notice when you pull up to park).
Also, after being seated, we were treated to lotsa great 70’s and 80’s tunes, always a big plus in my book.
And we timed our visit perfectly, I must say, because not long after we had placed our order, it really started filling up.
These days I’m always on the lookout for meat free eats (if you’re plant based and have ventured outside the Providence and Pawtucket area for a meal, you too may have discovered that it can be a challenge) and happy to report that the The Bike Stop came thru with some yummy vegetarian burgers.
The portions were generous, if a litle heavy on the bread side.
We were also glad to have the option to forgo the fries and instead add side salad or chips. There may have been a small up-charge for the chips, but yolo, ya know?
TBSC is also known for having an extensive selection of beers on tap (21+ if you’re so inclined) and their housemade mashed potatoes. (I, for one, have never met a potato I didn’t like!)
It’s a lively, cheerful spot for a casual meal with your friends or your SO next time you’re in the vicinity.
Open Tuesday thru Sunday, find Bike Stop at 148 Boon Street in Narragansett, Rhode Island. PS — Check their social for updates re: hours of operation and daily specials.
