The Providence Brunch That Everyone's Talking About Right Now

Run, Don’t Walk

Oberlin has moved to a NEW location (adjacent to their NEW sister restaurant on Westminster, Gift Horse) and it is stunning. Please make sure to look up because near the bar and front seating, there is a fetching mural up on the ceiling.

The hubs and I made a brunch reservation for last Sunday, and let me just say the atmosphere, food and service are all phenomenal. (My husband and I can’t always get out for dinners, so when I heard Oberlin had started offering weekend brunch, I knew we had to get there asap.)

We sat on their patio during the InDowncity holiday event back in December (it was heated). Now after our recent brunch date, I can say that the interior is beyond gorgeous. The look (and feel) is VERY big city. There’s no need to road trip to BOS or NYC to experience amazing food and ambiance (when ppl tell me that’s their jam, it’s just like nails on a chalkboard to me frankly).

The hubs ordered a tea and the SOURDOUGH PANCAKES which I tasted and can indeed confirm they were yummy. (Sourdough is supposed to be easier to digest, so yay.)

I got a mocktail (they give you the option to have the drinks without and with alcohol) and later a tea (love that they serve loose leaf which is a nice touch), the SMOKED FISH PLATTER (with a SEA SALT BAGEL), and the MASQUERADE POTATO HASH (with an over-easy egg).

Friends, these dishes were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delightful. I have to say — and this could ruffle a few feathers — the brunch at Oberlin PVD is one of the best in the whole entire state right now, with the cherry on top of the sundae being the attentive service. Everyone from the hostess to the servers was wonderful.

Get there before all your foodie pals start checking in.

Find Oberlin at 266 Westminster in Providence, Rhode Island.

As always, if you go for brunch after reading THIS, please let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.
