We Had Lunch At This Wakefield, Rhode Island Pizzeria And Wow
We finally made it back to Pasquale’s in Wakefield, and this may be our best experience there yet.
Located in South County Commons outdoor mall, the restaurant was quite busy on a Friday — and before 12noon, too.
The daily specials including pastas sounded fantastic but we had our hearts set on PIZZA.
They offer three different kinds: a NY (thin and crispy) Style, a Grandma Style (thick or Sicilian and sauce-y with crispy edges), and Neapolitan (chewy not crispy) pies.
We ordered the Original Grandma, a classic version with fresh mozzarella, oregano, crushed tomatoes, and EVOO.
Our pie was delivered quickly to the table (again, they were buzzing with lunchtime biz) by our upbeat and friendly server and it was a crunchy and flavorful DELIGHT.
I say this as someone who is indeed 1/2 Italian. And whose aunt and grandma used to make pizza at home back in the day.
We would go back in a heartbeat to try the other kinds as well as some other entrees and drinks.
The space is decorated with nods to Italy and it’s just so lively and fun with lotsa charm.
After our visit, someone said the best seats in the house are at the pizza bar and that we need to go over to their cafe and market across the way for some limoncello tiramisu. Duly noted!
If you haven’t been in a while, it’s time to revisit.
