We Stumbled On One Of The Prettiest Beaches In Rhode Island

Yesterday on BI

We took the ferry to Block Island yesterday, and ended up seeing so much, including one of the prettiest beaches in the Ocean State.

After breakfast at Persephone’s (highly recommend) and checking out Mohegan Bluffs & the Southeast Lighthouse (two absolute must sees), we motored over to Mansion Beach, and we were wow’ed.

This secluded beach has white sand and turquoise blue water. Someone was saying that they had just spotted a seal near the shore, too. (We missed him or her, but that would have been a terrific photo op.)

And I couldn’t help but notice how much fresher and cleaner the air on The Block smells. On that beach and everywhere else.

To us, that spot in particular felt just like a tropical vacation destination.

In addition, you can still see some remnants of the foundation of the grand mansion — that sadly burnt down in 1960 and for which this beach was named — near the parking areas.

Much to my husband’s chagrin, the road leading to the shore is not paved. I’m sure the locals and regular visitors LOVE it that way, lolololol.

Also, no mopeds are allowed on that street. (We brought my husband’s car over on the ferry which was worth every penny of the $80 fee. We also walked but having that car allowed us to see way more.)

Find Mansion Beach on Corn Neck Road on Block Island.
