We Visited A Dreamy, New Speakeasy In Warren, Rhode Island

Yesterday Afternoon in Warren

Since opening their doors earlier this year, this enchanting speakeasy — named Stingy Alley for the walkway next to the Methodist church in town where those who apparently didn’t have the dough to afford a pew inside would gather to listen to the Sunday services — has been quite the popular spot for cheersing and sips with friends on Main Street in Warren.

From the owners of Amy’s Place on Wickenden in PVD and The Square Peg also in Warren, this place is marvelous. From the minute we walked up to the front of 489 Main Street, we were wowed by the handsome black and brick exterior. It looks like somewhere you might happen upon on the East Side of Providence or the West Side of NYC.

After grabbing seats in the enchanting interior (a decidedly plush-without-being-standoff-ish mix of woodwork, brick, gallery walls of vintage photos and illustrations, and leather booths) I ordered one of their signatures — the decadent State & Main, made with gin, lemon, orgreat, rosemary, egg white, and olive oil while my husband opted for a ginger ale.

My drink was a delectable and unexpected taste party!

Regulars also rave about their Espresso Martinis, Negronis, and the dessert style ‘tails, not to mention the beer & wine selection.

Shoutout to the folks behind the bar yesterday for being so kind — and letting us capture them making that State & Main.

If you fancy a bite, they also have some classic snacks like chips and nuts. In addition, I think that they sometimes offer sandwiches and other more substantial eats on the weekends.

Find Stingy Alley at 489 Main Street in Warren, Rhode Island. They are open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 11pm, Fridays and Saurdays from 4pm to 12midnight, and Sundays from 2pm to 8pm.

As always, if you go after reading this, please let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.
