The Cutest Bagel And Pizza Cafe In Rhode Island

They Even Had A Clothing Pop-Up At Old Man’s Joe’s On Saturday. So FUN!

The other morning — after the sea turtles were released at Wuskenau Beach in Westerly — we were looking for some breakfast in the area.

That’s how we stumbled upon Old Man Joe’s on Main Street; they’ve actually been open since Summer 2023 but they’re new to us as we had never been previously.

This 21st century-rustic-style coffee, tea, and bagel shop, that turns into a pizza destination several nights a week, is completely charming, and I would go back in a heartbeat.

First and foremost, the bagels are organic. They’re also sourdough, which is supposed to be easier to digest. Now those are two details I can applaud wholeheartedly.

Flavors include plain (I nabbed the last one the other day), poppy, sesame, everything, salt and pepper, and cinnamon raisin.

Get yours with cream cheese or butter or better yet, take the plunge and order one of their bagel sandwiches.

I picked the egg and cheese bc well, breakfast. KG went with their Joe Mama (fried egg, cultured butter and made-in-house jam).

Get yours to-go, enjoy at one of the tables inside or grab one of the Adirondacks out front and catch some rays.

Also the coffee and tea offerings are wonderful. The hubs & I had the hibiscus tea, and my friend KG had the coffee which was smooth, flavorful, and (an added bonus) served in a cheeky mug.

They also bring in pastry and other sweets from other local makers. A marvelous way to discover new businesses in the vicinity if you ask me.

And the inside is sunny and pretty with various homey touches throughout. You feel almost as though you’re in someone’s farmhouse kitchen. (I like that!)

Again on Friday & Saturday nights, they have wood-fired pizza in the courtyard, and that alone is worth a drive over to that neck of the woods.

Find Old Man Joe’s at 134 Main Street in Downtown Westerly (Rhode Island).
