The Decorations. The Excitement. The Food. 

I've always been a huge fan of Christmas.

Except for that year my father put coal in my stocking. (We lived in an old 'historic' house that at one time had been heated with a coal furnace.)

His idea of a joke.

Not funny.

One of my favorite - more recent - Christmas traditions is the 'Very Special Christmas WaterFire'. 

Sponsored by an anonymous benefactor for the 4th year in a row, it also highlights and supports all the good work being done by the Providence Rescue Mission.

Carolers at the 2013 Christmas Water Fire. This year, you'll find a Santa's Village, food and toy drives to benefit the Rescue Mission, a Christmas themed arts festival and local choir groups.

Yeah, we're getting into the spirit - and celebrating the blog going live - by giving out a special surprise* at the Christmas WaterFire on Dec 19th, Downtown Prov.

Lighting @ 4:30pm; Santa arrives by boat @ 4:45pm.
