Summer Style: If You Like To Drink Champagne And Shop
Last night was my first time at the #fabulous outdoor shopping mall that is Legacy Place in Dedham, MA.
The Gap there was hosting a special summer style event and it was pretty impressive. Just how impressive? Champagne, live music and braid bar (courtesy of the talented Theresa of Salon Capri ) impressive, that's how!
About Last Night:
Yes, I drank champagne. No, I'm not crafty. (That's me - along with my BFF Shirley - trying my darnedest to fashion a paper weight out of, among other things, some dried flowers.) PS - I'm even less crafty after a glass or two of champagne.
But I can still shop like a champ! Speaking of which, GAP has a 4-in-1 trapeze dress this year that is everything. (See the pix below.) You can wear it as a maxi or midi strapless dress OR a maxi or midi skirt. Ashley, my new intern, and I were betting that (as a maxi) it would be 2-3 miles too long for us, but it wasn't! Great news for us girls 5'6" and under without heels, right? Can't tell you how many maxi dresses (and skirts) I've bought over the last few years and never worn because they were way too long and I was too lazy to get them altered. Did I also mention this one's only $59.95? Yup.
Now is the time to buy shorts...No. Really. It is. (Don't be one of those sad people who wander into a store at the end of July or in mid August in search of shorts. They'll probably be long gone by then...Blame the retail seasons, not me.) And GAP has plenty of shorts. So many different colors and lengths, from daring to more modest and everything in between.
Braids really are THE hottest hair trend of the season. And they look good on almost everyone. Even me! PS - Whenever you can get someone else to do your hair, go for it. (This is also the first time I've sported a braid since I was 11.)
Ciao for Now,
Patty J
