On Staycation: 3 Reasons To Unplug During Your Next Mini Vacation

I like to spend time with people, and at places, that make me forget to look my phone. Because absolutely everyone needs a break at one time or another. It's the only way to truly reboot, refresh, and come back feeling sharper than ever. And, since we're at The Break (See what I did there?) in Narragansett on a staycation, thought I'd share a few of the many reasons to look up from, and perhaps take a mini-vaca from, your smart phone (or I-Pad, tablet) while you're here:

1. It's Vintage!

Yes, there's a working rotary dial model in every room as well as at the front desk. The perfect nod to nostalgia and (equally as important) it's a phone you can walk away from. Remember when we used to do that?

2. Mix It Up

Why not unplug and indulge? In a nice cocktail. Either at Chair 5, their restaurant on the ground floor that overlooks the heated - to a balmy 82 degrees - salt water pool or (just as lovely) the rooftop bar and lounge. Honestly, if I lived in these parts, I'd def be taking friends to their rooftop all the time because it's fantastic but in a low key sorta way - Decor (Can we talk attention to detail? Throughout the entire interior too.), Drinks, Views. #cheers PS - There's also a bar menu with some delish food. We devoured the fish tacos which were some of the best I've ever had.

3. Shopping Therapy

Don't know about you, but I always feel better after buying something, especially if that something is clothes, jewelry, a great bag, etc. (True story and inside joke for those who know me IRL) Anyway, we were extremely impressed when we saw that the merch in the pop-up gift shop in the lobby is curated by none other than a local boutique on Main Street in East Greenwich - Therapy. We also saw so much that we wanted for ourselves, from earrings to dresses to hand warmers and all at pretty reasonable prices. PS - You can even pick up a souvenir hat, tee or sweatshirt there if you're so inclined.

Ciao for Now,

Patty J
