This Restaurant's Opening In PVD, So Text Your Besties & Make Lunch Plans
Fries over guys: Yesterday we motored over to Thayer St in Providence for a preview of a restaurant I've been dying to try, by CHLOE, a casual dining restaurant that started in the West Village in NYC. They specialize in delightful and delish vegan eats, from a quick bite (There are salads, smoothies, fresh juices, and more ready to take out.) to more leisurely meal sessions like brunch (weekends from 10 to 4), lunch, or linner, aka, late lunch enjoyed as dinner. (Or should we just get together and tell Mariah Carey, who tweeted that term out a few weeks ago, to stop trying to make linner happen?)
We feasted on their baked fries and meatless burgers (with plenty of guac), all the while admiring their aesthetic - bright and cute (those so fresh, so clean napkins!) with a dash of retro, by way of details like the hanging (basket) chairs in the front window. A seat in either one happens to be the hot spot to be photographed for IG, FB, and beyond right now.
Never eat anything you can't pronounce. Except quinoa. You should eat that: by CHLOE is known for being all about not only 100% plant based but also freshly made from whole foods everything. Even if you're more Meatless Mondays (All Hail Sir Paul!) than full time vegan or vegetarian, think you'll agree that that's swell news.
They'll be open for biz this Thurs, Jan 18th, and I'm jazzed to have another place to go for great veggie-tarian food. Yea, going back for sure because there's so much more to sample and snap there. Like their Mac N Cheese. Their Sandwiches. The Sweets (We spied a tempting selection of cupcakes and cookies on display on Tuesday.). Also, looking forward to adding their small batch, cold pressed juices to my beverage rotation this year. Cheers to that (especially because my skin always seems to looks that much glow-i-er when I'm drinking fresh juice)! And for more from our afternoon at by Chloe, check out the photo diary below by Stacey Doyle.
