The Facial Everyone's Talking About This Summer & We're Here For It

I have something to confess.

I have never had a facial. 

Never. Ever.

So when Patty J told me about Emerging Energy and that they offer a customized Facial Gua Sha, I thought, 'Okay, let's try this!'

What is a Facial Gua Sha?

From their site: 

"This ancient Chinese medical technique is not only used to enhance beauty, it improves the health, texture and condition of your skin. When done properly, it smoothes wrinkling, improves circulation and complexion, and softens muscle tension. Facial Gua Sha creates lift and decreases undereye puffiness while improving texture and glowing your complexion."

Alison warmly welcomed me to the office, had me fill out a short bio about myself and my skin and skincare routine. The office was a inviting and peaceful.

She talked me through everything she was doing during the facial and asked how I was a feeling throughout. I felt relaxed and at ease during the whole experience. I honestly didn't want it to end, it was so very meditative and calming. 

My skin leans towards the sensitive and I've battled acne and redness since my teens. So I'm always fearful, when introducing something new to my skin, that it will react poorly.

After the session, my skin had a healthy glow, it felt super smooth and there was absolutely no irritation.

Would I go again? In a heartbeat! I can't believe I've waited this long to try something like this.

Emerging Energy also offers a Facial Gua Sha Workshop.

The workshop includes facial gua sha instruction and cheat sheet to take home, a jade gua sha tool, nutritional tips for healthy skin, and a hydrating goji glow facial oil.
