This Art Installation Meets Garden In PVD Is All The Sunshine You Need This Month
Guy raises money via a GoFundMe to plant 10K sunflowers on the open land between South Water and South Main in the capital city. Fast forward to tons of ppl flocking there for fotos, and now to year 3 of 10,000 Suns in Providence.
The grassroots urban garden of sunflowers is the brainchild of landscape architect A.E. Anderson who along with help from a group of local volunteers, spent his spare time this past Spring prepping the land, planting seeds, and watering the entire area. The end result of all that labor certainly does not disappoint.
Stalk the hashtags 10000 Suns or 10000 Suns Providence as of right now and you'll see so many IG pix already popping up. From couples to families to just the flowers with a cityscape background that includes the iconic Superman Building. Expect a lot more 📷’s in the coming weeks, with the key photo op revolving around a red wooden chair or two. Saw the first glimpse of one of the signature red chairs yesterday on Insta, so charge up your phone, bring your best selfie (or photoshoot) game, and try your luck this week.
