These 4 Places In Rhode Island Are Perf For Spring Photos With Your Squad
Whether you're taking photos with an I-Phone, as most of us are, or an actual camera, there's certainly no shortage of places in our little state to explore and enjoy during the milder months. (Okay, ok, today’s a balmy 50 degrees farenheit and that does border on spring-like.)
To be honest though, some locations just lend themselves more to stunning pics for social than others.
And, as you probably already know way too well, Instagram especially is all about those WOWZA! moments and captures.
Here then are a few must motor over to locations for the coming season.

1. The Jamestown Windmill in the Windmill Hill Historic District - Hellooo, Holland? Dating back to 1787, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in the late 1970's, these days it's Insta famous attracting a variety of both professional and amatuer photogs from around here and beyond. A fantastic foto op during the spring and summer, once the greenery starts popping up. There's also an incredible view of the Newport (Pell) Bridge from the back.

2. The Garden On The Peerless Roof Deck, Downtown PVD - A few years ago, we were lucky enough to get a tour of the rooftop of the Westminster Lofts, which houses the private gardens for both Gracie's and sister establishment, Ellie's. But it was an especially cold and gray day, and my photos reflect that. If you can somehow finagle (I mean that in the best possible way) an invite this spring, it's right up there with Wicked Tulips (more about them in a sec) in terms of cachet. Also, if someone can unlock the mystery of James Cameron having (or having had) an apartment in that building, be my guest. I mean, has he ever even once been spotted having coffee at Small Point?

3. Forth Wetherill State Park in Jamestown - Channel your inner Madonna, circa her Borderline music video and style arc from back in 1986 (Why not? Everyone from Zara and Top Shop to Saks is still spotlighting 1980’s threads.) at the former American Revolutionary Fort on the property. Graffiti for days and then some. Add your own a la Keith Haring (joke) or just take a ton of snaps at the area also deemed “the Devil's Playground.” If you dare. In addition to the jd’s (that’s juvenile delinquents, for the uninitiated), some people say, gasp, it's also haunted by the ghost of a dog from its Revolutionary days.

4. Wicked Tulips Flower Farm, which ty has been relocated to Schartner Farms in Exeter - Hello, Holland Part 2! Also known as Rhode Island’s Golden Ticket for photogs and bloggers come the end of April and beginning of May. (It’ll be here before ya know it!) If you’re planning on going as a photographer, or an IG blogger with a photog in tow, I will say that you’re definitely going to need to purchase a site pass in addition to the standard tix to gain entry to the farm. (You’re Welcome!)
In addition, it’s always best to plan ahead - saying a a little prayer for good weather can’t hurt either - because access sells out fast! Speaking of which, sold out means…sold out. Every single year, I’ve watched cars get turned away on sold out days because people insist on showing up without tickets hoping to somehow get ushered in.
