The Local Flower Farm That's Perf For All Your Summer Bouquet Pics
As we coast into what I’m going to call peak sunflowers on social season around these parts (you know, that time of the summer when your feed starts filling up with photos of people suddenly and inexplicably standing out in the middle of a sunflower field, holding bunches of them, or at rustic tables decorated with — you guessed it — SUNFLOWERS), you may be in search of something and some place a little different.
With that in mind, I humbly suggest putting the petal to the metal and taking a spin over to the Dahlia Shed in Middletown, a picture perfect flower farm where you’ll find a completely adorable self-serve shed setup. Despite having an impressive following over on Instagram (over 8K and counting) and plenty of gorgeous photos, I feel like a lot of locals outside that neck of the woods aren’t aware of them.
Yes, you can go and pick up bunches of fresh flowers from their on-the-honor-system stand for all your summer bouquet snap needs. If the flag is out, they do indeed have blooms available for purchase! (One caveat, because of the COVID crisis ty, they are asking that one person at a time pull up to get bouquets.)
And remember, pick-up is much more pleasant than being out in the middle of a flower field and actually PICKING on a hot, humid July or August day. That sorta thing only looks glam in those influencer photoshoots that were, up until coronavirus hit, ubiquitous on social.
Flowers to look forward to in July include Calendula, Snap Dragons, Zinnias, Forget Me Nots, Eucalyptus, and (yes…lololololol) Sunflowers.
