This Iconic RI Company Has A Cup Specifically For Iced Coffee & It Sounds Amazing

Remington Steele (80’s tv fans will know), Alfred Dunner (if your mom or grandma is 70+, you will know), and yes, Little Rhody’s own Peter Pots never actually existed.

Nope. Nada. No Way.

None of them were real.

That being said, the Peter Pots Pottery company (which dates back to the late 1940’s in Providence, has had its creations featured at both RISD and MOMA, and is now located not far from the URI campus in West Kingston) is something you’ll want on your home goods radar going forward, especially if you’re a 4-season ice coffee drinker or even if you just switch over during the sweltering summer months.

I say this because their tall Iced Coffee Cup holds 16 ounces of cold brew or any other beverage that floats your boat really. (Also, if like me, you are not a big fan of those dainty little cups and saucers.)

Yes, it is something of an investment purchase at $24, but their mugs are made to last for decades (both current and former RI’ers have been known to collect different pieces and seek out vintage ones online), so when you factor in cost per use, they end up being a deal.

Theirs are definitely mugs, plates, bowls, and pie birds (aka, a cute ceramic bird you place in the center of the top crust, before baking, to help let the steam out and guard against any filling spillage) meant to be used every single day and not stashed in your curio (are those still a thing?) or china closet which leads me to their “Butterfinger Discount.”

It’s something P.P.P. has become well known for over the decades: On the first Saturday of every month, they invite customers to bring in any pieces that they’ve damaged or broken at home (hey, it happens) and purchase a replacement at 25% off the reg. price.

Right now they are offering FREE shipping on orders of $25 or more and the ever popular curbside pickup.

If you prefer to check out their store (their stoneware and antique filled shop used to be a mill and sits right by a waterfall and babbling brook, so darling!), they have lots of hand sanitizer available and they will be cleaning all high touch areas throughout the day.

*Peter Pots Pottery is located at 494 Glen Rock Road in West Kingston, RI. Go to PeterPots.com to see all the enchanting things they design and create.
