This Portsmouth Restaurant's Outdoor Space Is Everything You're Looking For This Summer
My friend S. and I discovered 15 Point Road restaurant in Portsmouth after riding the rails (actually the pedal-powered red Rail Explorer bikes that launched 2 or 3 years ago in that neck of the woods) and being ravenous immediately following.
After pedaling around 5 miles, a salad — or apps and drinkies — just wasn’t going to cut it.
We were looking for a substantial and delish sit-down meal. (I was anyway, I can be pretty cranky when I’m really hungry.)
At first when we pulled up, I was little hesitant because it looked kinda fancy and we were dressed down for the RE experience in sneakers, casual clothes and post ride, windblown hair. (Egads!) Thankfully none of that was an issue.
We were greeted and seated by a friendly hostess, and our entire meal that night was so, so good!
I feel like it’s the kind of place that the local don’t want anyone else to know about because they want to keep it for themselves.
Well, cut to Summer 2020 and my big quest to both find, and revisit, some enchanting outdoor dining options here in the OS.
The best news is that 15 Point does indeed have an absolutely lovely patio space overlooking the Sakonnet River. It’s all VERY classic Rhode Island waterfront dining and wine-ing.
And weather permitting, you can reserve a table for your next August or September — because if we’re lucky it will be an extension of the current warmer weather — date night with your s.o..
With anyone from your Covid crew really. (Also, with the Covid crisis, they are now requiring reservations.)
I love their caprese salads, pasta, and scallops. (Over the years, they have become known for offering some of the freshest local seafood by the way.)
To experience this local gem for yourself, definitely check out 15PointRoad.com today. You’ll be soooo glad you did.
