Meet Paul Vespia, the founder of Hill & Harbor Design + Build in EG.

I am the Principal of Hill & Harbor Design + Build in East Greenwich Rhode Island. I started HHDB in 2016 with a desire to improve the entire design build process with complete transparency for the client. Most people are intimidated by a home project because they are not experts in the process and are unsure of where to begin.  I wanted to create a process that is easy for the client to understand and would work on any project regardless of the size.

We provide a very professional service from real estate assessments before clients buy a property, architectural design, permitting, construction, interior design and furnishings. We are truly a "one stop shop" under one roof for everything to do with a home. Our mission is to get clients from point A to point B with the least stress on their part. We do this with a schedule driven business model that puts the client in the drivers seat. They are in complete control of their investment in their home and the end result. We are like a Tesla that puts the project on autopilot for them: Sit back, relax and enjoy the process.

I live and work in East Greenwich, so there are many good places within walking distance to take advantage of. I have a standing lunch order at The Patio on Main. You have to try The Hill & Harbor Sandwich! I’d like to take credit for the name…but not sure that I can 😊. Another new favorite is Revival on Main Street. The Bolognese is incredible!

I am an avid fitness enthusiast and like to take my routine outside as much as possible (even in the winter months) as this energizes my soul as well as my body. There are many trails I like to tackle first thing in the morning. Some of my favorite trails are the Dunes in West Greenwich, Big River Management Area and Carrs Pond. Being out in nature resets something in our primative brain and really puts life into perspective. I feel amazing for days after a long run on the trails.

What’s Next

Most of the projects I take on at HHDB are major renovations to either historic or coastal homes. These are the types of homes that will be around forever and the level of detail is of the utmost importance. One of our most recent projects was completed this year on the East Side of Providence. We call the project “Blackstone Beauty” and was an unbelievable kitchen and entertaining space transformation. Our clients knew we cared about the project as much as they did and it shows in the details. My next adventure is the complete design, build and furnishings to a new build in East Greenwich. We are going in all hands on deck for this project. It will be amazing and I cannot wait to start the process!
