Take A Break From Snow Storm Watch To Enjoy This Incredible Online Photo Exhibition
With the impending storm, I’m skipping my usual three or four mile walk this afternoon, which is unfortunate because it’s basically my version of a daily meditation. No joke, it has helped me stay calm-ish (I come from a long line of type A folk, that’s all I’m saying, lol) and centered with all that’s been going on these last 11 months or so.
That being said, I actually stumbled across another way to decompress (and escape the blizzard watch that’s currently dominating the new cycyle, if only for few minutes) and thought you too might want to give it a whirl: Surprise, it’s a brand new virtual photo exhibit — due to the pandemic they were unable to do any kind in-person viewing event at this time — from my friends over at The Avenue Concept in Providence.
I’ve blogged about TAC many times before. Since inception, they’ve teamed up with a number of local businesses and a long list of both emerging and established artists to bring over 170 public art installations (!!!) to the capital city. This includes all of the absolutely stunning murals you see Downtown. (By the way, just spied the rock band Modest Mouse — more of a Sting, Eagles and Paul Simon fan myself — posing in front of the very first mural that TAC facilitated in PVD in the profile pic for their official Facebook Page.)
This time around they’ve teamed up with Rhode Island based photographer extraordinaire Ian Travis Barnard and the incredible Festival Ballet Providence, with Paolino Properties as a sponsor.
And the resulting images of these graceful and powerful dancers will completely mesmerize you.
The photos above are a behind-the-scenes peak at what went into creating this awe inspiring online photo exhibition, entitled “movement & meditation.”
If you’re curious, you’ll most definitely want to click over to their site to experience it for yourself.
