You Can Pick Lavender At This Lovely Farm In South Kingstown This Summer

Finally A Lavender Farm Right Here In Little Rhody

Finally A Lavender Farm Right Here In Little Rhody

For years I've been waiting for a legit lavender farm that was open to the public to pop up in Rhode Island. (The closest one I could find was on The Cape and at least a 2.5 hour drive. Ooh dee, can you imagine the traffic to Cape Cod on a nice day in June, July or August??? )

Then I discovered Lavender Waves Farm in South Kingstown.

We actually did some holiday shopping there in December of 2020 (they had everything from bunches of dried lavender to soaps, candles, sachets, sprays, and wreaths) and even met Minnie, their gorgeous spotted Great Dane.

Well, this summer they are rolling out “cutting days,” starting in June and they sound like a blast!

As with Wicked Tulips, you have to bring along your own bucket and to cut the lavender, a pair of garden shears is another must. (They are at the top of my shopping list! And now I’m also kicking myself for giving away the bucket from our afternoon at Wicked Tulips Flower Farm.)

Maybe top it all off with an adorable sun hat for the full “Martha Stewart” effect? If you really want to style the whole experience authentically, overalls and garden clogs also come to mind, but not sure if I’m going to be that ambitious in terms of presentation. (Speaking of which, I do adore the Little Bitte Cocktails IG which right now is featuring photos of the founder picking flowers that will be used for garnishing drinks and for decor. She is attired in something garden chic appropriate and the images are just charming.)

We got our tickets yesterday and I want to make sure you get yours before they sell out! (I mean, you just know this is going to be THE event — and Instagram photo op — of June 2021.)

Highly recommend you or your best bud go to their site asap.

As always, if you attend any of their lavender “cutting days” after reading this, please do let them know you heard about them here via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
