The Poke Bowl Place In South County Where You & Your Fave Person Will Want To Grab Lunch

That moment when you’re sitting at an enchanting hidden gem in South County, RI eating a five star poke bowl and you realize you have to post about it on your site ASAP, before every local media outlet and food blogger starts checking in from there…

Seriously, though, we are in love with Gansett Poke on Boston Neck Road which I’m pretty sure is technically in the Bonnet Shores section of Narragansett. (All I know about Bonnet Shores is based on memories from when I was a kid when two of my brothers who were at URI rented “off campus” houses there.)

If I had to guess, I would say a lot of URI students order takeout — I mean, I wish there was something like it when I was living in Kingston back in the day.

But back to GP…I cannot say enough great things about this lovely little cafe.

First off, like a lot of other Rhody eateries, they started with a cart.

Now, let’s chat about the DELICIOUS eats.

They have the most extensive menu of options for creating the perfect poke bowl that I have personally seen on the local scene: everything from hard boiled eggs, avo mash, seaweed salad, pineapple chunks, and kale or mixed greens to sesame seeds, crispy garlic or wontons, and 5 (!!!) different kinds of sauces or dressings.

As far I protein, I opted for the organic tofu, but if that doesn’t float your boat (beach blanket poke bowls this summer, amirite), you can pick from salmon, shrimp, ahi tuna, or chicken.

Everything was SUPER fresh and yes, their portions are beyond generous — did I mention it was well past lunchtime and we were starving?

Add in wonderful and quick service and you have a brand new go-to for next time you’re in the area.

Gansett Poke does have some outdoor seating (see our photos above), but it is limited, so your best bet is to carryout and dig in somewhere scenic in the vicinity.
