If You're Hungry For Amazing Latin Fusion, There's A New-ish Place In Providence
If takeout tedium has set in (totally understandable), I have news about an eatery that opened its doors in Providence for pickup and delivery this past spring.
YEYE, at 65 Bath Street in the capital city, is a completely carryout set-up (applause, applause because I do have indoor dining back on pause rn) that’s serving up latin fusion food with a focus on seafood AND plant based ceviches, mains, and bowls.
The menu is a colorful and enchanting interpretation of classic dishes through a 2021 lense, which means delicious fare that’s also lighter and healthier. (Don’t get me wrong now — You definitely do NOT have to be subscribed to Goop or Poosh, the Kourt Kardashian take on wellness, to appreciate.)
The chef and founder has roots in Panama and an incredible resume which includes, most recently, running a celebrated restaurant specializing in Latin American cuisine in Athens, Greece.
Their food is available for in-person pick-up or you can go the Uber Eats, Postmates or GrubHub route.
We got ours delivered via GrubHub and some great friends who grew up in South America were also there to lend a hand as far as food reviewing goes.
Our friends’ take on the new-ish offerings from this Providence based startup?
Well, they gave everything high ratings across the board for taste, texture, and authenticity.
The hubs and I loved everything too !!! (See some of our very first order above.)
As always, if you wind up getting lunch or dinner from YEYE in the not-too-distant future, please let them know that you heard about them here on Patty J and PattyJ.com.
