You Can Tour 14 Little Compton Farms This Coming Weekend And Wow
Little Compton is just so lovely and well preserved! Thankfully it has not been over-developed. I mean, you can’t get a cuppa coffee anywhere to save your life (I’ve tried), but hey, there’s always the gorgeous Groundswell Cafe (there’s nowhere else like it in RI, trust me on this) at Tiverton Four Corners.
Well, hold on to your hats because I have news about an under-the-radar and FREE tour there this coming weekend that you’ll want to take full advantage of — especially if you’re one of those people who live for posting on-the-farm fotos or videos to social this time of year.
You know the drill: Big smiles. Perfectly distressed denim and mussed hair. And the occasional flannel thrown in for good measure.
Anywho, the Little Compton Historical Society is hosting an open house of sorts that includes (as of right now) a whopping fourteen (14) farms, nurseries and the like including:
Adamsville Stables (Helloooo, horses and MINI horses !!!)
Coastal Greens (They’re known for their incredible microgreens.)
Franlart Nurseries
Fieldstone Gardens
Greenwood Pastures
Hope Alpaca Farm (We were there last spring; click here to read my post.)
Old Stone Orchard
Otter Brook Farm
Peckham’s Greenhouse (Absolutely incredible, click here to read my post from earlier this year about the place.)
Sakonnet Vineyards (A Lil Rhody Classic!)
Small World Farm (Their apples are organically grown btw.)
White Rock Farm
Wishing Stone Farm (The founder of Get Janes swears by WSF for grocery shopping and such.)
Young Family Farm (I always stop there to browse and stock up on in-season veggies whenever I’m in the area.)
You’ll be the envy of all your online friends when you start checking in from some or all of these picturesque locations this Saturday, October 2nd.
I also heard something about door prizes and opportunities to take a hayride or two.
