3 Lovely Spots In Narragansett You'll Want To Visit This Fall

I think I love Gansett just as much — maybe even more — in the fall.

If you agree (or perhaps you’re on the fence and need some convincing), here are three CLASSIC spots in that terrific beach town to add to your October itinerary.

This Place Is Insta FAMOUS:

The Black Point Ruins, situated at the far end of Scarborough Beach, have been attracting hikers, folks beach walking their dogs and lookie-loos for decades. (I was actually pretty dismayed to see more graffiti on what remains when I was there last week but that’s another blog for another time.)

The stone facade that we’ve all probably driven past countless times was, in another life, a carriage house, part of a magnificent estate (built by the Davis family of Providence in the late 1890’s) that also included a stunning 21 room mansion.

Search it online and you’ll find tons of photos and videos, including bird’s eye type drone footage.

This Place Attracts FAMOUS People:

Newport or Watch Hill might come to mind first when it comes to spotting celebs in RI, but nope!

Take the much loved eatery on Boon Street, Crazy Burger, for example.

A few summers ago, some of the regulars were kicking themselves when they realized (thx to an IG post) that they had somehow missed Avengers (and 13 Going On 30) star Mark Ruffalo breakfasting there.

So, why not take a page out of the Ruffalo playbook and plan a morning meal there this sea-son?

This Place Is FAMOUSLY Comfy And Cozy:

If you're old enough to remember the tv ads for Rocky Point, then you'll recall the mention of a salt water pool.

These days, the only local spot I know of that can boast one is The Break Hotel in Gansett. We did a staycation there a few years ago, and I can vouch that it was fantastic.

The pool is HEATED, too, which means you can take an autumnal dip and stay toasty.

They also recently relaunched Wine Wednesdays at their rooftop lounge. The views and ambiance are FAB, but remember, reservations are required.
