We Had Dessert And Drinks At This French Bakery In Providence And Wow

A Night Out In PVD

Well, Ellie’s has done it again!

Got fomo (that’s fear of missing out) because all your friends were checking in from New York City this past weekend?

Take yourself and your significant other and a friend or two to “Dessert Le Bar” at Ellie’s on Weybosset Street in Downtown Providence because ambiance, food, and drink wise, this is a big city experience.

We’re talking speciality HOLIDAY cocktails: I had the “It’s A Wonderful Life” made with citadelle, lemon, cava and chamomile, and it was just so light and refreshing. The kind of December sip that James Stewart himself would approve of.

And desserts…more about THOSE beauties in a second.

Yes, last weekend (Thursday thru Saturday nights, starting at 6pm), they hosted a soft launch of this dessert bar concept and we were the first people in line to check it out.

The sweets were OUTSTANDING, but would you expect anything less from Ellie’s?

We ordered 4 or 5 different ones to share and friends, believe me when I tell you all the plates were empty by the time we left.

We particularly LOVED the pumpkin cheesecake (my husband’s fave), lemon semifreddo (creamy and cold like ice cream, only better), and a flan with whipped cream.

I also picked up a box of their signature French macarons in the NEW for Holiday 2022 flavors for my momma.

Definitely watch their Instagram @Ellie’s Providence for updates about when they’ll be doing it again — my guess would be this coming weekend and don’t hesitate to motor on over.

It’s an ideal way to spend an hour before a show (at PPAC or Trinity) downcity, too.

Find Ellie’s at 255 Weybosset Stree in Providence, Rhode Island.
