We Love This Providence Cafe For Coffee, Pastries, Espresso Martinis, And Live Music
I was a fan of the old New Harvest coffee and cocktail bar over at the Arcade downtown.
The one on Sims Avenue that opened during the Summer of 2021 at the Farm Fresh RI Hub in PVD’s Valley neighborhood has really won me over, tho.
Just a superb spot indoors and out, during the day and into the night.
The exterior is all gussied up in season. (I understand that Providence’s Angela Dellar, arborist and horticulturist, and her team are behind the gorgeous landscaping.)
The inside is all modern cozy and welcoming with a dynamite menu of coffee and tea drinks as well as baked goods AND traditional and seasonal sips like Mulled Wine Sangria, Apple Cider Hot Toddies, and some of the yummiest Espresso Martinis in the whole entire city (possibly the state too).
And in addition to all that, on certain nights, they have terrific live music.
I mean, why not plan a night there with your out-of-town guests? The ones that just MIGHT be saying that they can’t find a decent macchiato or expresso martini anywhere.
Also, they do their famous roasting and coffee lab classes in an adjacent space that’s separated by a glass wall, which means you may be able to catch a glimpse of some behind the scenes stuff while you’re there.
And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all the other things happening at that complex. You may know that it’s the wintertime location of the Providence Flea, but are you aware that Robin Hollow Farm actually has a flower shop there? Or that Tallulah’s Taqueria has an outpost right near New Harvest?
Fab reasons in my humble opinion to take a spin by this winter.
