Nacho Avergae Pub

The other day we had lunch at Iron Works on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, and it was swell.

Now, the interior still looks fantastic (yours truly was invited to their reopening after the big renovation a few years back), like something out of a tv show or movie.

I mean, I half expected Sam Malone to be behind the bar with either Coach Ernie Pantusso (played by the late Nicholas Colasanto who was born in Providence) or Woody Boyd. (PS And BTW, who would have guessed Woody Harrelson would be the breakout movie star from that cast?)

The nachos were excellent; the hubs and I really enjoyed them. I, for one, was wishing that we had gotten the full instead of the 1/2 order. (Great having a choice to get a half, tho.) Furthermore, upon hearing about our meal there, a friend of mine said that she thinks theirs are the best nachos around, so there you go.

Beverage wise, if you love beer, their menu is quite impressive, featuring so many local ones. I was definitely tempted to order a Grey Sail brew (they’re based in Westerly) which is saying a lot.

And boy was I thrilled to find something plant based — a chickpea and bean burger specifically — as an option as far as mains. They also made our nacho plate without the pork, another big plus for those who don’t eat meat.

You’ve Got Mail

Our wait person could not have been nicer (shoutout to her), and I also appreciated that along with the bill, we were given a postcard to mail out to a friend. Just know all my fellow fans of old school mail, paper, and such would get a hoot out of THAT.

Find Iron Works at 697 Jefferson Blvd. in Warwick, Rhode Island.
