We Had A Delicious Lunch At This Terrific Newport Taqueria
This Newport taqueria actually started as a pop-up a few years ago (by Chef Mariana) and now it’s a marvelous spot for Mexican street tacos, margs, chips and salsa, and more.
The hubs and I were invited to La Vecina Taqueria (so happy that they are now open in the afternoon on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays because I’d been wanting to go forever) and gotta say the food was so darn tasty AND tippity top quality.
Absolutely no eater’s remorse. (I ate spicy, I ate beans, I drank mocktails, and didn’t feel at all bloated immediately following or later that night. Just saying!)
I mean, you could just tell that everything was prepared fresh using the high quality ingredients.
We feasted on two of their luscious taco plates (my vegetarian friends will love the BUTTERNUT SQUASH & MUSHROOM ones, they are amazing), two delightful margs sans alcohol, and an amazing bunuelo (fried dough that was so light with caramel drizzle, whipped cream and cinnamon sugar) that we practically inhaled.
They even made us Espresso Martini mocktails, such a treat.
Also, the housemade salsa served with the chips was dynamite.
As if that wasn’t enough, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the murals by local artist Sam Malpass all around us were stunning.
You won’t wanna leave without capturing those, srsly.
