The Popular Mexican Restaurant In Boston My Bestie Visited Is Perfect For Halloween

Darkness creeps in earlier and earlier now that spooky season is here. Orb spiders build transparent doilies in the corners of my porch and my lawn gets blanketed by fallen leaves. It’s perfect weather to make a cauldron of soup or to order delivery. Instead, I can’t stop thinking about a place we visited just as summer ended.

On a recent trip to Boston, I knew I had to go to Lolita Cocina and Tequila Bar. As we descended the stairs into the Back Bay restaurant, it became immediately apparent why Lolita had been recommended to me multiple times. Feeling like I had wandered onto the set of an old-time horror film, I marveled at the decor. Wrought iron railings, studded leather seating, curved ceilings and chandeliers made the dining area seem gothic and gave a dungeon-like appearance. The wall art, table-top skulls and candles, accented by red roses and lampshades added a touch of vampire to the atmosphere.

There were so many favorites on this menu. Our waiter was very helpful when we couldn’t decide what to order. The Broken Heart margarita is a perfect balance between fruity sweet/citrus tart and served with a raspberry garnish. The grilled street corn was amazing with just the right amount of heat! Our meal ended with a huge cloud of cotton candy much to our surprise. This was such a fun place to have a great meal.

There are two Lolita locations in Boston, Back Bay and Fort Point.
