We Had A Delightful Brunch On The Water At This Newport Resort

The Sunday brunch at the Inn at Castle Hill is not to be missed!

One of my nieces had a fairy tale wedding there, the hubs and I have done the fire pit thing in the winter, and of course we never miss drinks on The Lawn during the summer.

Also, classic movie fans know Grace Kelly famously stayed at Castle Hill whilst filming High Society with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby in 1956. During her time at the cottage Harbor House, she was known to climb down the rocks to get to the shore below. The resort immediately built a staircase and later named the area “Grace Kelly Beach.”

But yesterday’s BRUNCH really and truly wowed us from start to finish: We talked about it all the way home.

After getting an email about their new prix fixe menu, I made a weekend reservation, but in all honesty wasn’t sure what to expect.

Well, we walked in and for starters the staff couldn’t have been nicer.

And surprise, surprise…there was a trio playing some jazzy tunes which I loved (reminiscent of the jazz brunch that The Dorrance used to host maybe 6 or 7 yrs ago).

After getting seated in the light filled room overlooking The Lawn, I ordered a Mulled Over, made with mulled wine, orange peel, a cinnamon stick, and cognac…and served WARM.

A cozy sip on a still chilly March day in Lil Rhody with a side of lovely views!

The hubs and I both ordered their mixed green salad which is generously sized, loaded with tippity top quality greens (and farro) and a delightful cranberry vinaigrette.

Let me just say that my husband isn’t the biggest fan of salads and he was raving about it, lol. (They also took special care with my husband’s food because he does have a tree nut allergy.)

One Of The Best Salads In Recent Memory!

Their French toast with berries tasted as divine as it looked. (See image below.)

I devoured their salmon toast (super fresh with avocado and grilled capers), and then finished off the last piece of that incredible French toast.

Really, get the FRENCH TOAST to split in addition to anything else you might fancy.

Yes, service, food, and ambiance were all five star, 10 out of 10.

And I would definitely go back again in a heartbeat.

It’s a pretty close to perfect local excursion with your significant other or your favorite foodie.
