We Finally Got A Reservation At This Fantastic Italian Restaurant In Cranston
If everyone in your circle, feed or family is suddenly checking in from Italy this summer…
Instead of wasting time stewing in envy, make a reservation at Iannuccilli in Cranston’s Knightsville neighborhood, that city’s Little Italy. (I mean, have you seen the NEW Itri Park there yet?)
From the former owner and proprietor of the Florentine Grill in North Providence, Iannuccilli continues to be THE HOT reservation this summer: The apps, pasta, entrees, and ambiance are the closest you can get to dinner in a picturesque Italian village without booking a Delta flight into Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino or Milan Malpensa.
There are no bells and whistles (no selfie walls, I tried to be discreet about snapping some photos & video last night…no qr code menus, so nice to peruse a handheld one) but this place doesn’t need any of that; their Italian dishes and old world service are that great.
The hubs and I were lucky enough to get an early reservation last night (pretty sure that when they first opened their door 3 years ago, it was walk-ins only) and we’re still talking about how utterly amazing our orders were.
The hubs got the Chicken Milanese with Mashed Potato & Vegetable (green beans) and I decided on the Gnocchi. Let me just tell you that the portions are beyond generous (we both took food home, entrées are HUGE) and the quality is akin to the best meal you’ve eaten at your Italian mom’s, grandmom’s or aunt’s.
As a matter of fact, think I actually went to sleep last night dreaming about those gnocchi and the mashed potatoes.
The service was also terrific — our waiter checked in on us without hovering and even had our leftovers wrapped up for us which no one does anymore.
Regulars go gaga over their daily specials, Caesar salad, calamari, espresso martinis, linguine with clams, chicken parm and more.
The owner has also been known to go table to table and chat with guests.
Find Iannuccilli at 1791 Cranston Street in Cranston, Rhode Island.
