Hot Comfort Food In Providence For A Cold Rhode Island Winter's Day Or Night
The January deep freeze is here, and I have a wonderful restaurant for cozy food and drinks.
I am a little late for the party on this one, but Wok & Pot on Westminster Street in (Downtown) Providence is pretty incredible.
We had lunch there the other day and the (Korean) food was sensational. Don’t worry if (like me) you eat more vegetarian to pescatarian because they have so many tasty options for you.
Big thank you to Han and his team for a memorable afternoon meal!
We started with the hot ginger and honey tea and agreed that it was some of the best tasting tea we’ve ever sipped. Ever.
Then it was on to some juicy SHRIMP FRIED RICE (the hubs loved it and ate most of it before I could pry the bowl away from him, lol) and the veggie MANDU (dumplings). Both were absolutely delicious, and warming on a freezing cold day in PVD.
Next, we dipped into a gorgeous, steaming SEAFOOD HOT POT. (Fun detail…It finishes cooking at the table thanks to a large pot with a newfangled, customer friendly remote control.)
And some melt-in-your-mouth scallion pancakes that Tom kept gobbling up. (Pssst…the photos here are all from the Wok & Pot IG because we took videos only. No doubt about we would certainly go back for everything pictured, lol.)
This restaurant combines scrumptious food (they also do a Korean ramen which would be perf this frigid week in RI), a fun-tastic atmosphere (it’s quite authentic with Korean music, videos projected onto the side wall, and the option of adding a bottle SOJU to your lunch or din din) and impressive service.
Speaking of SOJU, the owner looped us in on this subtly sweet drink that’s wildly popular in Korea, that some have called “Korean vodka.” (I love that it’s customary to enjoy it WITH FOOD. It just seems so much more appealing to me overall.)
Add in a dazzling disco ball and cute photo booth and you have an excellent spot for lunch or dinner with your inner circle or significant other.
Find Wok N Pot at 333 Westminster Street in Providence, RI.
