The Afternoon Tea At A Converted Church In Warren, Rhode Island

Warren, Rhode Island

I recently connected with someone who opened a dream-y TEA ROOM and boutique in an old church in Warren (RI).

Couldn’t wait to get there for AFTERNOON TEA, so that I could share it with all of you.

Well, yesterday was the day, and Tatters at The Church Palace was so charming.

It has so much PANACHE.

The owner and proprietor Carol has been designing clothing for over ten years (maybe you spotted her in the past at Brimfield?) — and she now has this glorious space where guests can shop her line AND enjoy a terrific tea time with their significant other, some close friends, or both.

Pinkys Up Warren

We had butternut squash soup, a huge pot of tea and a three tier tray overflowing with lots of savory things (finger sandwiches) and sweets (cookies and such).

Make a reservation for you and your loved ones who would enjoy tea in a whimsical and fun-tastic space — I mean, it doesn’t get more intriguing that THIS atmosphere — and shopping for beautifully made clothes and accessories. (The owner repurposes a lot of vintage fabric to make her tops, flow-y pants and dresses, and more.)

Tea is served every Thursday through Sunday, closed for Thanksgiving of course and no walk-ins (you gotta reserve in advance).

You can also shop vintage furnishings as well as a curated selection of accessories, which in my book makes for a practically perfect afternoon.

Also, there’s parking on the side of the building, so don’t worry about that the least little bit.
