There's A New Restaurant In Wickford, Rhode Island And It's Wonderful
I’ve been waiting for this place to open, and then a friend messaged me the other day to say that it was happening, woo-hoo!
Situated on the property previously occupied by The Wickford Collection (now TWC in Jamestown), Press is an enchanting restaurant where you can tuck into brunch (10:30am to 2pm daily…I mean, most eateries it’s a weekends only situation), small plates (2 to 4pm…they also have desserts and mocktails), and even supper (after 4pm).
I got a latte, thoughtfully made. And reluctantly ordered the zucchini bread from the small plates menu, not sure what to expect. Well, it turned out to be one of the yummiest things I’ve eaten this year.
The presentation was five star (note the edible flowers on top in the photo above), and the taste experience? Even better. The outside was crunchy and inside was comfortingly warm. The topping was creamy (cream cheese?) with a nice hint of savory.
The bar was hopping late yesterday afternoon, too, with folks enjoying some pre-dinner cheer. PS — I caught a glimpse of the cocktail and mocktail menu, and everything sounds divine.
If the small plates are THAT delish, can you imagine how terrif the rest of the offerings are?
That being said I have to get back for brunch or dinner.
The aesthetic is modern (the sleek coffee drink menu on the wall when you walk in, the marble tables) with lots of vintage-looking touches (the mirrors and the artwork come to mind) throughout. The bar area is lovely, and gotta say, reminds me of Bellini’s at The Beatrice in Providence.
If you’re looking for somewhere special and sparkling new for clinking glasses — and a marvelous meal — with your significant other, your friend group or both, you’ll want to motor over to Press pronto.
Also, the patio overlooking the water out back is going to be a hot spot in the Village this coming Spring and Summer. (Remember you heard it HERE first, lol.)
Find Press at 30 West Main Street in Wickford Village (North Kingstown), Rhode Island.
