The New Providence Restaurant Everyone's Going To Be Checking In From
We popped into the NEW Cru Cafe on West Fountain Street in Providence for Sunday brunch — and you should too!
The vibe is relaxed and I loved the nods to Providence throughout (including a framed Mad Peck Providence poster…I had one back in the early 90’s).
Aesthetically it just says, “Come in and stay for a while.”
And you can wear your blue jeans, no need to get all gussied up for a fancy schmancy brunch-y in the city.
The bar was hopping (we stuck with coffee and tea), and the menu was fantastic. I had a tough time deciding on what to order, so many marvelous dishes to choose from.
I went with The Newporter which is a scrumptious spin on the classic breakfast sandwich, made with scrambled eggs, American cheese, basil mayo, all on brioche bread. I mean, brioche makes everything better, right?
Tom loved their Charlie Burger, also on a brioche roll with a special sauce that will knock your socks off.
We also had a chance to sample a few other dishes including the Miso Butter Honey Challah which will change your life. A fantastic sweet treat to share with your brunch buddy or enjoy it as your main.
They’ll also be open this Friday and Saturday night for dinner.
If you’re looking for a pre-New Year’s foodie adventure, then this newbie on the PVD scene is just the ticket.
