The Delightful Providence Restaurant For Your Next Date Night In The City

About Last Nite At Gracie’s…

Date night with the hubs at Gracie’s in Providence — and they truly are the best!

We started out at the cozy bar area (look around and you’ll spot their signature stars on the tables and throughout) where Ash, the bartender, took incredible care of us.

I had their Bouvier cocktail (thinking it must be a nod to Jackie O.) and it was one of the tastiest drinks I’ve ever had in my life.

Tom ordered from the spirit free drink options, opting for the Bright and Fizzy, made with French sparkling cider, rosemary apple shrub and soda. He had 2 in fact, so you know they were amazing.

Then we were treated to a cheeseboard with 4 delectable kinds from around NE. (We passed on the nuts bc Tom has a nut allergy.) When I tell you these were outstanding…Tom inhaled the Cornerstone from a farm in CT. I enjoyed them all, find the Jack’s Blue (a mild-ish variety of blue cheese) from VT especially yummy.

Then it was off to the dining room for some of Gracie’s incredible bread (the stuff that carb lovers’ dreams are made of) as well as dinner and dessert.

As someone who lives for bread, gotta say I tried both the focaccia and the pumpkin last night along with a generous amount of the warm butter. Heavenly! (Bread people please take note. Theirs melts in your mouth.)

Tom started with the Russet Potato Gnocchi which he kept talking about all the way home in the car. I almost ordered that but instead decided on the baby greens salad. It did not disappoint.

For entrees, we both went with their Point Judith Sea Scallops (with white corn grits, wild mushrooms, brown butter, and more), agreeing that these were the best we’d ever eaten. Seriously. (Then our wait person gave us the scoop on what makes them so darn good. Another thing I love about Gracie’s is how the entire team is so knowledgeable about everything on the menu.)

And we couldn’t leave with dessert. Theirs are of course made-in-house and also legendary.

Tom feasted on their Sticky Toffee Pudding (without the coconut) and I had the ice cream. This was no ordinary, run-of-the-mill ice cream. No, certainly not. Three different, handmade flavors, one with hints of fruit, another more savory and a third with crunchy bits.

Oh, what a night! Thank you to absolutely every single person at Gracie’s for a superb time.
