Surf's Up At This Nifty Narragansett, Rhode Island Restaurant
If (like me) you were a big fan of the food at Bed & Bistro, then you’ll be thrilled to know that there’s a new-ish and surf-inspired eatery and inn in that same space now.
The Surf Shack and Kitchen on Narragansett Avenue in Gansett (RI) is an eye catching, whimsical space that has been completely refurbished. (See our photos above.) I mean, you really have to see it in person to truly appreciate.
Now, a friend who owns a local biz in NK had been raving about it to me back in September (the Margs, the creative entrées including seafood and vegetarian, the Pistachio Crème Brûlée, etc.), but it’s challenging for the hubs and I to do dinner out many nights, so we missed out for Fall 2023.
Then a little bird told me they had SUNDAY BRUNCH. (Cue that happy music!)
The hubs and I motored over recently and we were delighted by the menu, service and atmosphere.
Again, a surf and beach theme outside and in. The host and our server were attentive. And the chef even brought us out some complimentary beignets, warm and cinnamon-y goodness.
Tom had their ISLAND WAFFLES (Tahitian vanilla mango compote, maple syrup, chantilly cream), and I had their BOUGIE BENNIE (definitely an indulgence…Sourdough English muffin, butter poached lobster, garlic, spinach, poached egg, Osetra caviar, and saffron Hollandaise).
Food was thoughtfully prepared and presented — also tasted SUPER fresh. This is NOT your run-of-the-mill brunchtime faire. It is next level midday yummi-ness.
If you need somewhere new and exciting for a brunch or dinner (of course you do!), then do make a reservation (better to book in advance if poss and thus avoid any disappointment if you walk in and can’t get seated) here.
Also, I adore Narragansett in the Spring.
And — hooray — I hear Saturday is supposed to be dry and a bit warmer.
Find The Surf Kitchen at 83 Narragansett Avenue in Narragansett, Rhode Island. (You could always book a stay there. I hear the rooms are just as FAB.)
