Ring In Patio Season At This Wickford Restaurant That Just Reopened
Chews And Views In The Wick
Tavern By The Sea in Wickford is open for its 19th season, and that’s the best news I’ve had all day.
You can sit on the brick patio that overlooks Wickford Harbor this week because it’s so darn nice out. (Stacey Doyle & I did photos on the water there in 2018. A friend had offered her rowboat and we gleefully accepted.)
One caveat before we go any further: Reservations are essential because the wait for a table on any given spring (or summer) day or night can be lengthy. I mean, why chance it?
Also, if you would prefer to sit outside, you definitely want to book in advance.
Tavern (always tempted to write Tavern On The Green where I’ve never actually eaten but have seen in plenty of movies, so I feel as though I have) is a completely delightful spot for casual eats and drinks.
There’s something for every eater (including clam cakes and Del’s) on their sizeable menu.
They are open thru October, closing for the season from November until March.
If you can score a table in time to watch the sunset over the water with your favorite person or people this go ‘round, then you are indeed GOLDEN.
Also, spotted it (the back bar area to be exact) in the Kyra Sedgwick movie, Space Oddity, which was filmed in The Wick the summer before last.
Tavern By The Sea is located at 16 West Main Street in Wickford Village.
As always, if you find yourself at TBTS after reading this, do let them know that you found out about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
