The Warwick, Rhode Island Restaurant People Line Up Out The Door For
I can’t believe I’ve been writing about local restaurants for years (since 2014) and only just made it to Cozy Grill on Warwick Avenue in Warwick now.
The hubs wasn’t even sure if we could get a table — because he knows how popular this family run eatery open since 1997 is. (There’s a 2nd location in Coventry, Rhode Island, too, by the way.)
We did get a buzzer when we popped in around 12:30 and there was a long-ish line, but the wait seemed to fly by and I think it was around 20 minutes or so.
Pretty soon the hostess, Auntie Mary (who is indeed the owner’s AUNT) greeted and seated us.
Let me just tell you that this woman was so darn delightful, making us feel as though we were family whilst talking up the October themed coffee blend, their extensive menu of benedicts (there are about 20 to choose from which I haven’t seen anywhere else in the state), and their brunch cocktail offerings.
The hubs got a waffle with their warm cinnamon apples and I decided on their benedict with Portuguese sweet bread (no linquica) as well as a side of those same apples.
The portions are ginormous, pipping hot, and absolutely delicious.
Our wait person checked in (in a nice way) to refill our cups several times throughout our meal.
I mean, once you go, you know WHY this place is so busy ALL THE TIME.
Regulars rave about their omelettes, home fries, waffle a la mode (with ice cream), and espresso martinis.
And they also have an adorable gift shop next door which is definitely on my list for next time. (They were closed around 1:30, so we missed out.)
Find Cozy Grill at 440 Warwick Avenue in Warwick, Rhode Island.
