Coffee And Flowers

We had a late breakfast at Alaina’s Guac & Roll on Kingstown Road in Richmond the other day, and my husband is still talking about it — in the best possible way of course.

Formerly Alaina’s Coffee & Kitchen, this little eatery has gone from coffee shop to Mexican cafe with their main menu being all about tacos, bowls, burritos.

You should know that…they do still have coffee, tea, acai bowls, and breakfast sandwiches, too.

As a matter of fact, you can get breakfast all day which is fantastic, especially for anyone who might get a late start, sleeps in, or just enjoys an egg and cheese sandwich for lunch.

I got mine on thick sourdough (I LOVE ❤️ bread) and think Tom’s was a wrap (tortilla?) — and both were made-to-order warm and delicious.

Gotta say my ice coffee was terrific (just like the ole days of Alaina’s Coffee & Kitchen) and Tom really liked his flavored ice tea.

He said it too tasted FRESHLY MADE and he’s not one to dole out compliments either.

Another key piece of info I found out later is that the flowers growing nearby are all part of Stone Circle Flowers, whose tagline is “grown organically and with love.” Two details I think we can all appreciate. Pssst: In my experience organic blooms last 2 or 3X longer than others, so…

And this set-up means that in season (it’s flower time in RI, now thru October), Alaina’s will usually have bouquets from Stone Circle for sale.

So, you can indulge your love of coffee, brekkie sandwiches, and blooms.

Find Alaina’s Guac & Roll at 93 Kingstown Road in Richmond, Rhode Island.
