We Finally Made It To This Local Favorite In Bristol For Breakfast And Coffee
Well, we finally made it to the Sunset Cafe in Bristol. (So many people have been telling me to go there for I-don’t-know-how-long.)
Located on Hope Street, this sweet eatery was buzzing yesterday around 12noon.
We had to wait about 25 to 30 minutes for a table, but the food was so good that we did not mind. (You put your name in with the host at the main entrance.)
I got a pancake. Good thing I only ordered the one because it was GINORMOUS.
And this one was the best-tasting hot cakes I’ve ever eaten. Ever.
If you love pancakes, get to this cafe soon.
But that’s not all. Not even close.
Also ordered their grilled buttermilk biscuit with butter and made-in-house jam, and it was another brunchtime delight. If (like me) you live for carbs, this is another treat you’ll want to to dig into when you go.
The home fries are made using red bliss potatoes (color me IMPRESSED) and not at all greasy which means absolutely no eater’s remorse. (Hey, we’ve all been there, lol. It’s okay in the moment and then later on, not so okay.)
Tom had an egg white omelet because he’s in training for a race. (I know he would have inhaled at least two pancakes any other day.) Simple, classic dish which he said was VERY tasty.
The interior of this restaurant is also cheery and quite stylish. I liked the floral wallpaper in the main dining room, the bar with it’s faux grass wall, the colorful furniture and plants, and the overall upbeat vibe.
Our server was pleasant and attentive (without hovering), and we even got to meet one of the owners.
Regulars rave about their eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwiches, banana bread French toast, iced chai and MORE.
